Life changes for the protagonist of the series, Nancy Botwin, when her husband, Judah’s unexpected death leaves her with no option but to take the charge of her house in every possible way, from financial to emotional. In order to maintain the upper middle class standards of living and in order to fulfill the wishes of her children, Nancy accepts what life offers to her. She with open arms accepts this new profession with which she comes in touch with because of Conrad Shepherd, i.e., of selling pot. She starts selling marijuana to her affluent neighborhood. Though she accepts this offer, but she will have to keep this a secret from her children, Shane and Silas, her inquisitive neighbors, and above all from her brother-in-law, Andy. While she has to hide her real source of income from all these, she must also deal with the suspicious members of PTA, who are wondering how she is managing her lifestyle. Besides fighting with all these people she has a tough life ahead of her when, she comes face to face with the dangers of being in the business that she is. But the tactful Nancy deals with all of them and becomes so engrossed in this other world that it is difficult for her to get out of it.
The series basically revolves around Nancy, her two sons and people whom they get in touch with. Their love lives and professional lives get intertwined and everybody here is living on the edge. The series will introduce you to a completely different world of drug dealers, their complexities and their way of dealing with things and a thing that is very rarely shown, a perspective of a stoner towards life and things.
The series has recently completed its fourth season and two more seasons of the series have already been confirmed. It is one series that has all the elements of being a perfect series, with a topic that has never been discussed till date with such depth, at least on television.
