He was born as the child of Valerie and Tom Gould. He has Jewish parents and an actress sister, Kelly Gould. He has one more sister named Emma. He grew up in Los Angeles.
His acting career began when he was two years old. He earned much recognition for voicing the title character in ‘Finding Nemo’.
He came on the television screen for his roles in ‘Ally McBeal’, ‘Malcolm in the Middle’, ‘Law and Order: Special Victims Unit’, ‘Supernatural’ and ‘Pushing Daisies’. He also plays the role of “Shane Botwin” in ‘Weeds’. Alexander Gould plays “Shane Botwin” in ‘Weeds’. He saw his father dying and was deeply hurt. His mother “Nancy Botwin” took up drug dealing as her business after the death of “Shane’s” father. “Shane” always misses his father and takes out his emotions by taking to his dead father, as if he is still alive.
